February 27, 2017

I’m am sitting in the airport in Singapore waiting for my next flight to Frankfurt, Germany.  As I wait I keep thinking about a question one of our students in Kandall asked me the other day.

She asked if I have love in my heart?  In fact, my heart is overflowing.  I am struck by no matter whether you speak the same language as those around you, we all have one language in common, a smile and a little bit of kindness.

Let me recap the last couple of days for you:

February 24, 2017
We took a trip with Mr. Lee our tuk-tuk driver to the Russian Market.

There we met Sophya who is a vendor at the market.  We have started an online store as part of our website and she is going to be our partner to provide us with local artist work.  This is exciting for us because we can support local artists and it is exciting for her because not only is she supporting local artists, but she can also support girls going to school.  She gave us each a gift a small statue as a gift.

On our way back to Villa Langka we stopped at Sipar to purchase more books.

February 25, 2017
We got up early and left Villa Langka at 5:30 to travel to Svay Rieng Province. It was amazing to once again see the city and this time, countryside come to life.  We spent the day meeting with commune leaders and teachers in the two communes in which we work, Moeun Chey and Donsor.

February 26, 2017
Woke up at our Guest House and went back to Moun Shey to meet with our students.

Then we made the trip back to Phnom Penh.  There is so much construction and traffic.

Before I left Villa Langka we met with Kimna who is a member of our board to talk more about our library project and the computer project.  This was a great ending to a fantastic trip.
